Top 5 Tips to Planning the Perfect Christmas Party

For many, the prospect of planning the office Christmas party is daunting. Events can be stressful and when you’re responsible for ensuring your colleagues (and managers) have the best Christmas party ever it can be hard to know where to start.

To help you get started, we’ve put together our top 5 tips to planning the perfect Christmas Party!

 

 

#1 – Lock in your date:

No matter how far away your Christmas party feels, it is never too early to start on your Christmas wish list and get in the spirit. As of today there are only 141 days to go, and those sought after peak dates are starting to book out fast!

 

If you are planning to hold your event on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday then it is imperative you lock in your venue as soon as you can, as these dates will always book first. Alternatively, if you are after a Sunday - Wednesday event, then you can not only take a little more time, but you may also be able to work with your venue to receive an off-peak deal!

 

Social calendars fill up fast during the festive season so once you have secured your venue; make sure to send out a Save the Date, this way you will ensure a good turn out!

 

 

#2 – Balancing your budget:

Knowing your budget, and sticking to it, is one of the most important elements of any event. Whilst we 100% encourage all our clients to dream BIG, it is important to understand what end of the scale your budget sits so you can find the best deal to suit!

 

There is an option for everyone, and our team love to customise your event, to ensure we offer the best value for money possible.

 

Whilst many guides will recommend that you always leave some money as a back-up for last minute costs, rest assured when you book with us there are no hidden costs!

 

Cocktail & Dinner Event Styles 

#3: Choose your style

You may have a very clear brief heading into your event planning & know exactly what style of event you are after, or you may be more flexible with this. Either way choosing the right style can make or break your event.

 

Do your guests love to party & dance, choose a cocktail event so that you can make the most of the dancefloor. Do you have a long presentation, or are you hosting an awards night? Perhaps go with a sit down lunch or dinner so that your guests are comfortable and can pay attention. Or maybe your team aren’t keen on a big night out, a day time team building activity may in fact be the perfect option in place of a traditional Christmas party. 

 

 

#4: Food and Drink

This is the number 1 element that will make or break your event, and could have your office talking about the Christmas party for all the wrong reasons.

 

The golden rule is to make sure your guests know what style of food and drinks to expect. A hungry guest is an unhappy guest.
