On Monday 13 July, the events team helped Madame Tussauds Sydney and Merlin's Magic Wand deliver some magic to the children at Randwick Children’s hospital. Although our day job is creating memorable and unique events in Sydney, we also like to spend our time bringing smiles to seriously ill, disadvantaged and disabled children.
This time we helped the hospital launch Music Therapy Week which is part of their Music Month campaign. The Child Life and Music Therapy Department at Randwick Children’s Hospital aims to minimise the stress and anxiety that hospitalisation may cause and to assist children and young people to develop resilience and positive self-esteem by addressing the developmental and psychosocial needs of infants, children and young people and their families.
To help with this mission we took Madame Tussauds Sydney’s Katy Perry figure to bring joy, smiles and some funky dance moves into the lives of the children. Katy Perry is one of their favourite pop stars and we hope to take our Taylor Swift figure over for a sing along soon too! After many photo’s, much music and a few ward visits it was time to say goodbye – but not farewell forever.
If you’re having an event and think that one of our fun figures could liven up the party or add to the theme of the event like Katy Perry did on Monday why not consider hosting your next get together at Madame Tussauds Sydney!
